2006 TLHS Commencement Exercises Elegant and Successful!
Congratulations to TLHS's 2006 Grads! The elegant and successful commencement exercises for the class of 2006 were held at Banyan Creek School on Sunday, May 21, 2006, for thirty-three seniors. Wearing white caps and gowns with gold stoles bearing the TLHS 2006 inscription, the graduates were applauded vigorously upon their entry and celebrated throughout. In addition to speeches of congratulations and affectionate advice from Mr. Bernadel and Dr. Allerdyce, the event featured an inspirational talk by Mr. Edner Jean and a commencement speech by Ms. Inger Brown-Chieves. Included among our special guests was philanthropist and developer Mr. Frank McKinney, who, for the fifth year in a row, presented one young man and one young woman with the Principals' Leadership Award. Each year, Mr. McKinney presents the awards to the students chosen by the principals to have best achieved the school's mission and who have demonstrated leadership ability. This year, Ritchine Berreth and Joshua MacDonald were the recipients of the award, accepting certificates and $300 each to use toward college and/or career. Students Natasha Jaffe and Sara Feliciano both received Valedictorian metals for their academic excellence, while Gertrude Dimonnay and Carly Weaver accepted metals for the Salutatorian awards. Congratulations to all our graduates and their families!
