Commencement Ceremonies May 22nd
Award-winning poet Spencer Reese will deliver the Commencement Address

Toussaint L’Ouverture High School for Arts & Social Justice (TLHS) is delighted to announce that award-winning poet Spencer Reese will deliver the Commencement Address at the school’s graduation ceremonies on May 22nd at Old School Square. Mr. Reese conducted a lunchtime poetry class at TLHS during its first year of operation and has gone on to win the prestigious 2003 Bakeless Poetry Prize, the Guggenheim Award, and additional awards and fellowships by the National Endowment for the Arts, the Library of Congress, the Florida State Arts Board, and more. Mr. Reece was born in 1963 in Hartford, Connecticut. He holds the BA from Wesleyan University, a master’s in English from the University of York, England, and a master's in theological studies from Harvard Divinity School. His poems have been widely published, most notably in The New Yorker.
