Toussaint L’Ouverture High School for Arts & Social Justice (TLHS) is proud to announce that several students of the innovative charter high school are winners in the Women in the Visual Arts (WITVA) 9TH ANNUAL SPRING CELEBRATION OF HIGH SCHOOL ART 2005, hosted by Sugar Sand Park in Boca Raton. . The winners, all students of TLHS art teacher Jana Newton, will receive their awards at a reception on April 3, 2005. The winners are as follows:

  • Wade Canty. Grade 10, for “Bird Scape” (Acrylic)

  • Deny Geneya, Grade 11, for “Bird Medicine Shield” (Acrylic)

  • Danielle Jones, Grade 12, for “Fire Tree” (Acrylic)

  • Carly Weaver, Grade 11, “Ain't Life Grand” (Altered Book)

  • And, for the Morty & Glotia Wolosoff Scholarship:

  • Anothony Gibbs, Grade 10, for “Show Time” (Altered Book)    

  • Marquetta Mosley, Grade 12, “Reason for Life” (Altered Book)
