MOTOGP-NEWS – Monster Energy Yamaha Team racer, Fabio Quartararo, is happy to finish runner-up in the 2025 Spanish MotoGP. That means Quartararo can forget and end the podium drought since the 2023 Mandalika MotoGP.
Fabio Quartararo managed to finish second in the 2025 Spanish MotoGP. The French racer was only behind Alex Marquez (Gresini Ducati) who became the champion at the Jerez Circuit, Spain on Sunday (27/4/2025) evening WIB.
1. First Podium
This is Quartararo’s first podium since the 2023 Indonesian MotoGP. At that time, El Diablo – Fabio Quartararo’s nickname – managed to get on the podium because he finished third in the race at the Mandalika Circuit, Lombok, Indonesia on October 15, 2023.
Quartararo was very happy because he was finally able to end his 560-day podium drought. The 2021 MotoGP champion said that this week was very special even though he did not become the champion.
“It was a very special weekend for me, especially because of the pole position and a fairly aggressive start in the Sprint, with Marc at Turn 1. We rode fast this weekend and we knew we suffered a little more on Sunday after the Moto2 race, but I managed to find my rhythm,” said Quartararo as quoted by Motosan, Tuesday (29/4/2025).
2. Becomes Important Capital
Quartararo was happy that he finally did not see many racers in front of him. According to him, this podium will have a positive impact on looking at the next series of races.
