C# web service/website ?

by: C. Woody Butler |last post by:

I have a strange problem with a website and a web service. They're both on the same server, running Windows server 2003. The website is set up as the default website for the server. I've got the same code running in several different environments, it just so happens this is the production server we're having problems with. Not ideal, typically. What happens is this.

How to send HLML from a Web Service to a Client Browser

by: Bas Groeneveld |last post by:

I have an application where I send an XML dataset to a web service to be rendered as an html page. This complete html page is returned as a string by the web service. How can I then pass this string to the client browser to be displayed? I have had a look at Response.Write, however this does not create a new page, rather writes into the html from existing aspx page's postback. I could save the returned html as a file and then...

Streaming javascript and XP Service Pack 2

by: Casper Hornstrup |last post by:

I have an ASP.NET application that imports product descriptions from an Excel file. The Excel file is uploaded, then a background thread will start importing the product descriptions from the Excel file. When the Excel file is uploaded, the user's browser is redirected (using Response.Redirect) to a new page that will stream some javascript to show the progress of the import. I do perform a Response.Flush() after each script tag. I've...

how do I make a Web service proxy understand an HTTP refresh page?

by: achoo |last post by:

Is it possible to extend a Web service proxy so that it understands an HTTP refresh page? Explanation: * The Web service proxy was autogenerated by Visual Studio .NET 2003 from the Web service's WSDL. It inherits from System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol. * The Web service is hiding behind a load-balancing content switch

Service Unavailable after Database restart caused by exceptions?

by: MichiMichi |last post by:

My services shows once a while the infamous error "Service Unavailable" (http 503 error). This error happens only if my asp.net application encounters a problem with the SQL Server. In my case it occured when my DB logs were full or the server administrator on the shared server environment restarted the DB. After my ISP restarts the DB, my services are still unavailable, which means I have to connect myself to the webhosting panel and...

Hello, I have a win32 service written in Python that starts a plain application, written in Python. The win32 service tries to launch the application in a while loop and logs the return value of the os.system call. That's all. The application is a simple Python program that connects to an https xml/rpc server, and works with the data retrieved from that server. It

Problem With Comparison Operator <=> in G++

by: Oralloy |last post by:

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

The easy way to turn off automatic updates for Windows 10/11

by: Hystou |last post by:

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Trying to create a lan-to-lan vpn between two differents networks

by: TSSRALBI |last post by:

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
